About Plimat

PLIMAT was founded in 1978 and started its activity in 1980, after about three years of preparatory work.
PLIMAT is a company highly specialised in pipe fittings, whose main concern is the production of parts of superior quality. PLIMAT products are carefully studied and designed, and are tested and controlled in the laboratory. They comply with the existing standards for each type of fitting. Always seeking to respond to market demands, a project was launched that in 2000 started a new plant, PLIMEX, dedicated exclusively to manufacturing high quality valves.
The fittings we produce for conveying drinking water and other fluids, given their chemical and mechanical resistance as well as their harmlessness, solve many problems simply and economically when used at the temperatures and pressures recommended by PLIMAT. Throughout its history the company has grown steadily and in balance across all its figures and indicators, the result of a policy and strategy centred on research, development and quality. This approach has given us a leading position in the Portuguese market, being today the largest and most important Portuguese manufacturer of pipe fittings and among the best in the world in terms of quality. The company has the most advanced technological equipment, in production, in quality control and in design.
As a result of this clearly positive evolution, PLIMAT obtained in 1998 the certification of its quality system under ISO 9002, having recently moved to NP EN ISO 9001:2015. PLIMAT belongs to the MATOS group, made up of four companies in total: three in plastic injection moulding (“PLIMAT”, “PLIMEX” and “MATOSPLÁS”) and one (“MOLDE MATOS”) dedicated to making high quality moulds for plastic injection.
